Tim Oakes grew up here in New York City and has been biking for over 20 years. He joined Champion System Cycling (formerly Hell\\\'s Kitchen Cycling) at the beginning of the 2004 season. In addition to road racing, he swam competitively in college and now does 3 to 4 triathlons a year. Tim has competed and placed in his age group in distances ranging from sprint and Olympic, to the Half Ironman distance. He looks forward to upgrading during the 2007 season to race competitively with Champion System\\\'s elite squad.
Tim works for Cadence Cycling and Multisports Center here in Manhattan (opening June 2007.) He encourages all cycling and triathlon enthusiasts to come and visit him at Cadence\\\'s New York Center.
His other interests include snowboarding, photography, cross-country skiing, drumming and traveling.
